Things you can see about me – I am a wife, animal lover and red hair haver. Most of my time away from work is spent with my husband and furry children. I love funny people, and things that make me laugh. I also love to read and knit when I am feeling focused… but unfortunately, end up staring at the tv too much.
Things you do not see about me – I am in constant pain. I suffer from stage four (severe) endometriosis. To me it feels like I have a kidney stone stuck in my bladder – and it has been this way since March 2010. I have had multiple legions, scarring, adhesions and surgeries to remove them. To save my large intestines and kidneys from damage, I had a complete hysterectomy September 2010. Since then I have also begun to suffer from neuropathy from the endo and scarring damage.
Things you should know about me – I love my husband, furry kids and family and struggle everyday with the guilt that my pain causes me.
Things you should know about endometriosis – There is no cure for endometriosis. Getting pregnant does not “fix” the problem – and in many cases cause infertility. Endometriosis can only be diagnosed visually (through surgery). 1 in 11 woman have the disease. On average, endo goes misdiagnosed for 10 years. Scarier yet, it can become serious enough that if it goes untreated it could cause issues that are life threatening.
